If you would have told me 10 months ago that I would be training for my first half marathon I definitely would not have believed you. Not only am I running my first half marathon in Las Vegas on December 2nd, I’ve also joined Team Challenge to help raise funds and awareness for research leading to improved treatment options and a cure for Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are known as inflammatory bowel diseases. As many as 1.4 million Americans have IBD, but suffer in silence due to embarrassment and alienation. I would go into the details of the disease, but I’ll spare you that.
I’ve dedicated 2012 to running and it has truly changed my life for the better. I’m healthier, happier and less stressed. Since running has helped me so much I wanted to give back while training for my first half by joining Team Challenge and raising at least $2,700 to help CCFA find a cure for Crohn’s and Colitis.
Please help me by donating whatever you can. Every dollar brings me closer to my goal. If you can’t support financially please send positive vibes my way as I train and accomplish my goals.
Check out my blog, My Life as a Lazy Girl, for updates on my training and fundraising.
A minimum of 82 cents per dollar raised by CCFA goes directly to research and patient support, and your contribution is tax deductible. If your company matches charitable contributions, please include matching forms with your donation.
