The Adaptive Sports Foundation has been able to serve the disabled community for the past two decades because of the generosity of others. The ASF is funded solely through the private sector which includes individual donations, private foundation grants, and numerous special event fundraisers. It costs the ASF $185 per disabled participant per day. We only collect from the disabled individual less than a fourth of the real costs. Your donation helps supplement the rest of the costs so the cost to the disabled individual is kept at a minimum. It is the philosophy of the ASF that cost should and will not be a barrier to a special needs individuals looking to participate in our programs. Your support will have a direct impact on our special needs students. 86% of your donation will go directly to the ASF student.
Through sports, disabled individuals are able to discover or rediscover a sense of self worth and an increased self esteem. They realize that if they can accomplish the skills of a certain sport or reach a certain goal that they can return to their “everyday lives” with a new found sense of self confidence.
