| Our wonderful community ice rink is put together and maintained by volunteers from throughout Carbon County! Over the past four years, we have seen usage of the rink continue to increase and have witnessed great progress in the ability levels of the kids and adults who have now been skating for several years. Visitors to Red Lodge are also making good use of the ice rink and are so appreciative of a low cost outdoor activity they can do with their families.
Our volunteers perform a lot of work to simply set up, maintain and tear down the rink each year and we don't have much time left to fundraise. We also don’t have the means to collect donations from the users of the rink on site. Thus, our involvement in the Fun Run each year is truly invaluable in garnering the financial support we need to continue to provide a safe and fun ice rink for our community.
If you can't donate your time, please consider helping us by making a cash donation via the Fun Run. Money will be used to maintain snow removal and ice-making equipment as well as replace elements of the rink as needed. For instance, we just purchased a new liner for the rink last year at a cost of over $3,000 and these need to be replaced every three years or so. |
