| Not Just for daycare anymore!
The Beartooth Children's Center is a progressive center serving children and families in Carbon County. Originally started as the Red Lodge Day Care, the center has changed over the years to better meet the unique needs of the families in the area.
Changes made in 2010-2011
1. We began providing Preschool and Playschool classes at no additional charge to enrolled families.
2. We gave out over $10,000 in financial assistance to families in need.
3. We helped more than 20 families apply for and successfully receive State assistance such as Snap, Healthy Montana Kids/Medicaid, Child Care and/or cash assistance.
4. We forged a relationship with Headstart and began providing transportation for enrolled families.
5. We installed an ADA approved playground surface to better serve children and staff with disabilities.
6. We became a Healthy Montana Kids Enrollment Partner, providing parents with free childcare and assistance while filling out the necessary paperwork.
7. We expanded our summer programming to children ages 2-12 and served over 70 children during the most recent summer program.
8. We became a Yellow Ribbon event partner providing childcare in Red Lodge and Billings for families serving our Country.
Changes to come in 2011-2012 (And here is where we need your help!
1. Introduce to the community our professional staff which includes professional early childhood educators as well as certified teachers.
2. Create a richer multi-cultural learning environment.
3. Expand our current curriculum and learning materials.
4. Create a School Holiday and Summer Art program using local resources such as the Arts Guild and Red Lodge Clay Center.
5. Create an Afterschool Lego Robotics Program for children ages 9-12. |
