Friends of Acadia preserves, protects, and promotes stewardship of the outstanding natural beauty, ecological vitality, and distinctive cultural resources of Acadia National Park and surrounding communities for the inspiration and enjoyment of current and future generations. Friends of Acadia also provides a grant to the MDI Marathon to charter the Island Explorer buses that shuttle runners and spectators on race day between Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor.

Earn Guaranteed Marathon Entry:
Select the 'Register For This Event' link found at the top of this page and commit to raising $1,000 for one of the official local charitable organizations that are part of the Beyond the Finish Line program.

Support a Fundraiser:
Do you know someone participating in the MDI Marathon Beyond the Finish Line program? If you would like to support their personal fundraising efforts, select the 'Find A Fundraiser To Support' link found at the top of this page, and make a contribution on their behalf.

Become a Fundraiser:
If you are already signed up for the MDI Marathon, you can still become a fundraiser. Select the 'Become A Fundraiser' link found at the top of this page, and create your own personal fundraising page, then share the link to your page with your friends, family and co-workers and ask them to sponsor you.
