It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to our son, Michael. In his short, 23 days of life he touched us so deeply and we know he impacted so many people around us as well. His final moments were peaceful...I was able to hold him and Jason held his hand. We let him know of all of the wonderful people he would meet in Heaven.
It is so hard to say goodbye, but our little boy let us know it was time. His body was failing him but his spirit is far from gone. Michael is a part of each of us- especially Matthew. We will never have to look far- his identical twin brother will be a contstant reminder of this special, little baby....our strong fighter.
Jason and I are so proud of our little boy and his short time here on earth. Some people spend a lifetime trying to build courage...Michael was born with it and lived it every day of his life. His journey is far from over. He is now free from wires, monitors, IVs, medicine and transfusions. We are confident that he is experiencing pure love and happiness in Heaven. He is our hero. |
