Farmers Against Hunger is a program of the New Jersey Agricultural Society, a federally-certified 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization. Farmers Against Hunger (FAH) collects and distributes surplus fruits and vegetables to those in need. Since its conception in 1996, FAH has distributed over 14 million pounds of fresh, nutritious produce at no cost to our recipients.
We have two trucks that operate all year round and with the rising cost of diesel fuel, the program requires additional funding to keep our trucks on the road, delivering our bountiful harvest.
Most of our recipients are the working poor, the elderly and single parents, just trying to make ends meet. And in these tough economic times, we are seeing more new faces each week.
The Giant Step in Fighting Hunger Walk-A-Thon will provide funds to keep Farmers Against Hunger going strong. |
