EWB-USA West Coast Workshop 2010
Building the skills to better the world.
Every year, 1.6 million children die from diarrhea due to inadequate sanitation and a lack of clean water. In Tanzania, only 47% of the water supply is sanitary. 547 million people live without electricity in Sub-Saharan Africa. In Fiji, less than half the population has access to safe, reliable drinking water.

In these and other situations around the globe, the men and women of Engineers Without Borders-USA are working to affect change. EWB-USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to designing and implementing sustainable engineering projects worldwide, while creating transformative experience and responsible leaders. Our vision is a world in which all communities have the capacity to meet their basic human needs. With your support, we can realize this vision. Together we can build a better world.

In October 2010, the EWB-USA San Francisco Professional Chapter (EWB-SFP), along with the EWB-USA UC Berkeley Student Chapter, will be hosting the West Coast Regional Training Workshop. This annual event brings together students, academics, and professionals for a weekend of technical training, collaboration, and inspiration.

I invite you to pledge your financial support of EWB-USA’s work on a local level with global impact by donating to support the goals of the EWB-USA West Coast Regional Training Workshop:

• To develop low-tech sustainable engineering solutions to meet basic human needs globally.
• To share experiences and develop skills on best practices for international development work.
• To enhance the fundraising capacity of EWB-USA professional and student chapters.

As a Workshop Sponsor, you can feel confident that you are helping us in building the skills to better the world. You are supporting a new era of science and engineering professionals while training the next generation of global leaders capable of 21st century innovation and international collaboration. Your organization will gain access to a high caliber pool of talent: we are expecting over 250 attendees representing 20 professional and 33 student chapters throughout Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Guam. Benefactor and Advocate Level sponsors will receive a book of attendees’ resumes. Sponsors at all levels receive passes to the event, so while attending the sessions, you will learn about our various projects and efforts around the globe. Best of all, by supporting and attending this event, you can begin to engage and build a relationship with some of the Bay Area’s brightest minds and most dedicated volunteers.

Proceeds from the workshop will go towards EWB-USA West Coast’s Chapters’ projects in communities around the world. For more information on the EWB-SFP’s current projects please visit our website.
