Ryan Holler's Marathon Page
I'm 22 years old and a full time student and work full time at as a department manager at a big box retailer in the Chicago suburbs. This summer I've been training to run my first marathon, and I will be running in the Chicago Marathon on October 7, 2007 for the Eastland Disaster Historical Society.

My Great Grandmother and her brother were on the Eastland when it rolled.

Quick Eastland facts:
What: A ship that was carrying passengers to Western Electric's employee picnic.
When: July 24, 1915
Who: of the 2571 aboard, 844 died in the Eastland Disaster. More passengers died aboard the Eastland than passengers of the Titanic.

You may have lived in Chicago your whole life and not known about the Eastland Disaster. More than twice as many perished on the Eastland than in the Great Chicago Fire. The money raised by my running will help the Eastland Disaster Historical Society in educating people about this event.

Any amount you're willing to donate will be greatly appreciated by the Historical Society and me. It absolutely doesn't need to be $50 or $100 or $262 (26.2 miles is the distance I'll be running in the marathon), though any of those amounts would be awesome, $10 would be great. If you can't or are uncomfortable using the online donation page but are looking to help, you can contact me directly at hollimer@gmail.com and we can figure something else out.
Total Donations Collected:$750.00
Goal: $750
$0 100% $750
