Welcome to Expedition Mt Kinabalu!
On August 7-9th 2015, I will be part of a team of 100 international climbers who will scale Mt Kinabalu, summit of Borneo, to raise global awareness and funding for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
This is a personal quest. I will be climbing for my 22-yr-old son Dusty who has Duchenne, and for all the thousands of boys and young men who are faced with the challenges of this disease every day.
Duchenne is a fatal, progressive muscle wasting disease that affects one in 3,500 boys worldwide. It robs boys of their ability to walk, breathe, eat and speak, and eventually takes their lives, often before they reach age 20. It leaves their minds unaffected and full of dreams.
I'll be raising money for Coalition Duchenne. Our charity funds promising research to find treatments and a cure for Duchenne. Coalition Duchenne has played an instrumental part in the development of cardiac stem cells for Duchenne hearts and is currently funding: Cardiac Stem Cell Research at Cedars- Sinai in Los Angeles, California.
Please sponsor me and help change the future of all the boys and young men with Duchenne. One hundred percent of your donation will fund research.
If you are joining us on the Expedition Climb please enter the required donation/deposit of USD 100 in the orange box below.
