Means God's Divine Gift |

| Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue is so excited each year to participate in the Louisiana SPCA's Dog Day Afternoon. This year, our representative dog is TEO. Teo is pronounced Tay-oh and means God's Divine Gift. Teo once found himself at a local animal shelter much like the LA-SPCA. He was obviously young, but emaciated and paralyzed in his rear legs from an unknown injury. Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue was contacted by shelter workers and immediately picked him up. Once at our vet, we discovered that this poor boy had been shot and the bullet was precariously lodged in his back very close to his spinal cord. It has been determined that surgical attempts to remove the bullet could only make matters worse, so we elected to leave it. Teo has been living at Dag's House in Marrero where he has received tender care, much needed rehabilitation and therapy and has been the lucky recipient of a donated wheel chair. He has proven to be a tough little cookie and has worked very hard in his water therapy and exercise. Today, although still aided by a wheel chair, Teo can move both rear legs and happily keeps up with the rest of his canine friends at Dag's house.
Teo holds a special place in our hearts and as such we have designated him as our "representative" for the LA-SPCA 2009 dog walk. Teo's walk will be a victorious walk. Once unwanted, shot and paralyzed, this proud boy now will hold his head high and pave the way for other needy animals. Please honor his walk by making a donation in his name. The money Teo raises will not only benefit the LA-SPCA but half of it will come back to Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue, the organization that thought he was worth saving.
Please come out and meet Teo at Dog Day Afternoon! And please don't forget to make a donation! |
