It has been said that Stella Back was found on the streets of
Chalmette. Others say it was in the French Quarter at a Lucky Dog stand. Her mom, Connie, is pretty sure she walked from Chalmette to the Quarter in search of fun and the perfect hot dog! What we do know is that in 1996 with help from the LA/SPCA, Stella found her way to Louisiana Boxer Rescue. After being with foster mom Connie for a few short weeks, Stella won Connie’s heart and found a forever home. In her 12 years, she has been host to over 500 boxers while they were in the care of Louisiana Boxer Rescue, being companion, teacher, and comforter to those finding themselves homeless. She has also been a source of strength and joy to her Mom through times of loss. During Katrina, Stella evacuated with 27 dogs and three horses! Like a true New Orleanian, she has endured, and will continue to offer hope and love to all homeless boxers.
Join Stella in her efforts to raise funds for the Louisiana SPCA. |
