Join me as I race across the country in an event referred to as RAAM (Race Across America). I will be driving a support vehicle crucial to the success of our 4 person cycling team. The D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded by active and retired Washington, D.C. Firefighters. The Foundation is dedicated to assisting in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured firefighters and burn patients in the D.C. Metropolitan Area. They support burn research, treatment, and rehabilitation programs at Washington Hospital Center as well as the Children's Burn Camp Program. Firefighters and members of the Burn Center have a special empathy for burn victims. No other group witnesses more of the devastation that fire wreaks on the human body and spirit.
The vision of the D.C. Firefighter's Burn Foundation is to reduce burn injuries in the National Capitol Region by providing and supporting comprehensive and accessible information on burn prevention and education.
In addition, their vision is to ensure that all burn survivors and their families receive the best medical care possible, and are offered the highest level of support, both during and after treatment. |
