| The Eagle Fire Company is hosting the inaugural 2009 Dash for the Axe 5K road running race this October 3, 2009 in an effort to recruit volunteers and raise funds for an all-volunteer department that accepts no boundaries: When Summoned, We Obey. We are your local fire department. We are community members, just like you.
Since 1822, your fire department has been an integral part of the community staffed by individuals wishing to make a difference. We have developed comprehensive fire and rescue capabilities that parallel the growth of our own neighborhood. These capabilities are state and nationally certified and available to you 24 hours a day, 52 weeks a year—your safety, your family’s safety, your home and business are our priorities.
Every member volunteers! We receive no compensation except that of a brotherhood of friends and family who donate time and expertise to make certain you are safe. We rely on community funding to support our training, our equipment, and our continued dedication of volunteer retention and recruitment.
The inaugural 2009 Dash for the Axe promises to be an amazing, fun-filled and family-oriented event that we hope becomes a tradition for our community. The proceeds of this event will help us continue our mission of providing life safety and property conservation—but we need your help. We need your volunteer energy for the race. Please join us in hosting this 5K! Bring your community spirit and experience the simple joy of volunteering as a race marshal, as a start/finish line marshal, as an aid-station volunteer, or as a pre-race registrar.
