Dance Harrison Street is a non-profit organization that promotes the art of dance through a high standard of instruction by professionals, in an environment that inspires young dancers to enhance their talents, challenge their abilities and nurture their love of dance.

Students of all ages at DHS learn to experience and appreciate the emotional aspects of the bond between dancer and teacher, the special friendships shared among the students within the studio, an appreciation of dance as art in motion, and the physical and emotional rewards of striving to reach beyond one's ability. Additionally student dancers develop confidence, poise, grace and an independent spirit.

Bi-annual productions allow the students to showcase their talents and experience top-level choreography in a setting that is beyond the average recital.

Dance Harrison Street’s commitment to a caliber dance education is reflected in the number of students who are accepted into highly respected Summer Intensive Dance programs such as The Kirov Academy in Washington, D.C., The Rock School in Philadelphia, The Houston Ballet Academy and The Virginia School of the Arts.

Mikhail Baryshnikov once said, “Just like a person, a city without an artistic life is a pretty dismal thing.” Talbot County is fortunate to have a vibrant art community, but it would be greatly diminished to lose even one member of that community. Life is about children.....about art……about the moments that they are inspired and in turn inspire those around them by leaving their own unique imprints on our hearts and souls. Dance Harrison Street needs your support to remain a viable art entity in our community, to have the funds to reach out into all areas of the community so every child has the opportunity to experience the art of dance and to insure that current and future students will always have an inspirational place to dance and to dream for themselves.
