We all believe in conservation, but don't always know which organizations are doing the most effective work. By supporting The Conservation Alliance, you will invest in an array of the most compelling conservation projects in North America. The Conservation Alliance is a group of businesses that supports efforts to protect wild places throughout North America for their habitat and recreational values. Each member company pays annual dues into a central fund, and we contribute those dues to the most effective conservation projects in the continent. We have developed a rigorous screening process that ensures that our funding gets into the hands of organizations that can succeed in protecting wild lands and waters, given adequate resources. We also receive donations from individuals interested in adding their contributions to our larger fund. In 2006, seven of our grantees succeeded, protecting 1 million acres of land in the US, creating a 4.4-million-acre park in British Columbia, removing one dam in Colorado, and permanently closing 300,000 acres in Montana to new oil and gas development. Your contribution will help increase our overall grant fund, and enable us to support additional effective conservation projects.
