Thank you for visiting my Team Challenge fundraising page! In just a matter of months I plan to compete in the Rock 'n Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon on December 2, 2012 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are autoimmune deficiency diseases of the digestive tract that affect 1.4 million adults and children in the United States. I am one of those adults.
I've suffered from Crohn's since I was 8 years old, and although I'm much more fortunate than others, it still has a daily impact on my life.
Symptoms vary in each patient but can be very painful and very often lead to life altering surgery. Currently there are no cures for these diseases. That is why I have committed to help CCFA change lives and find a cure for these diseases through my fundraising efforts.
Team Challenge gives participants the resources to complete 13.1 miles through a professional training plan regardless of athletic experience. And most importantly, Team Challenge empowers regular individuals to stand up to educate others about these diseases and why these funds that are raised are so crucial. Together we can all make a difference.
I hope you will consider supporting my training and fundraising efforts. Your encouragement will carry me through the next few months of training. I will be sure to keep you updated on my progress. Thank you for your support!
