On October 11, 2008, I will be hosting the Florida Coast2Coast Ride IV. This is a unique motorcycle ride that can only happen in Florida. It is a scenic journey on scenic byways/back roads. This year’s route is from Tampa, FL through scenic rural central Florida to Cocoa, FL. This will be my third time hosting this event that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The Florida Coast2Coast Ride has special meaning for me. From 1983-1985, my parents hosted a ride across Florida called “Coast to Coast”. In August 1999, my father passed away from colon cancer. Since then, he has been a major inspiration in resurrecting what is now the “Florida Coast2Coast Ride”. I first hosetd the FLC2CR on October 2, 2004. A week later, I was told I had Hodgkins lymphoma, which began a very trying ten month battle for me. I was told I was good to go in August 2005.
I feel we all have a purpose and goal in life. I believe that I was “spared” to help give support, encouragement, and enlighten others who may have gone through or are going through a traumatic time in their life… no matter what type of trauma it may be – physical or emotional.
I firmly believe that in hosting this event, to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, it beneifts all of us. This deadly disease seems to affect almost everyone. Most of us know someone who has had cancer. Let’s all fight this deadly disease by donating to this very worthy cause.
