| At Ching Farm Animal Rescue and Sanctuary we fill a need in the Salt Lake Valley to rescue farm and other exotic animals. Many of the animals have been rescued from laboratory testing, slaughter or were companion animals to people who were not living in an area zoned for farm animals. The rescue was founded by Faith and Mike Ching in Utah in 1998. The farm is incorporated as Ching Farm Rescue as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your donations are tax-deductible.
As the economy has worsened, even more people are losing their land and homes and having to give up their dearly loved companions. We need your help with fundraising to be able to care for all of these animals. All donations made will go directly to care for the animals.
All of the work at the rescue is done by volunteers, with the exception of the occasional vet bill. We have no paid staff. Our funding comes from donations and oftentimes from Faith and Mike’s own pockets.
We’ve created the 5k/10k to help with fundraising so that they are not left with the entire financial burden. Please register to run, walk or sleep in for this event. We encourage you to join a team and run for an animal you connect with. Or create a team of your own with your family, friends or any organization that wants to make a difference.
The walk will take place August 8, 2009 at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. Please register online by August 1, 2009. Day of registration will be available at 7 am. The race starts at 8 am.
