Chicago Sky Pennies Campaign
Benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Hey Sky fans!! Welcome to the Chicago Sky Pennies for Patients Web Page! Thank you for visiting our team's Web site! We’re so excited to have the opportunity to work with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on an amazing initiative – the Pennies for Patients campaign. The Chicago Sky team including players, coaches and staff along with local students will be collecting as much spare change as possible to help the Society cure blood cancers and provide services to patients and their families. While pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters certainly add up, we know that more must be done to find cures and help patients. In fact, leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20. As we move forward, we would like to ask you, our friends and family, to assist in a cause that we care deeply about. Please help our team raise as many pennies as possible by our season home opener on May 22, and make a contribution below. You will be helping us help the Society fight leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma –cancers that take the lives of thousands of Americans every year. Please note that you will automatically receive a receipt that you can print for your records and submit it to your company's matching gifts program for an additional gift. Thank you for your generosity and participation in this amazing project! The Sky is one of seven independently-owned teams in the WNBA, the world’s longest-running women’s professional sports league. The Sky will tip-off its 2008 season on May 17 against the Seattle Storm and play their season home opener on May 22 against the Sacramento Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion. The Sky celebrated its inaugural season in 2006, and finished a successful sophomore season with a 14-20 record and guard Armintie Price named WNBA Rookie of the Year. The team will have the number two pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft, which is expected to be one of the best rookie classes in the history of the league.
