Hi there, and thanks for stopping by my fundracing page! As you know well by now, running is a central source of joy and positivity in my life. One of my goals going in to 2010 was to do as much as I could to help bring that joy to the lives of others. So when I decided to run the Chicago Marathon this year, I also aligned myself with a really terrific charity, Chicago Run.
What attracted me to Chicago Run is that it's very similar to the charity I volunteer with here in Philly, Students Run Philly Style. Chicago Run's main mission is to bring running to young people as a key component of the fight against childhood obesity. It's a great cause, and as a relatively new organization, I only hope that my fundraising efforts help it grow in size and capacity comparable to Students Run.
So help me in my quest! There will be some very, very grateful children in Chicago thanks to you. No amount - literally no amount - is too small! Thank you so much!!!
Please check out the Chicago Run website, or read below for more information on this rockin' charity! |

| Thank you for supporting the Chicago Run Charity Running Team! Your donation will help bring running to children throughout Chicago and help aid in the fight against childhood obesity and promote healthy and active lifestyles. In partnership with the Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Run’s programs inspire children in largely underserved communities to improve their fitness and self-esteem through organized runs. 90% of our participants come from low-income households and often do not have the chance to participate regularly in exercise and sports activities. Through Chicago Run, our kids now have an opportunity to get fit, stay focused, and have fun through the discipline of running. |
