| I hope you will join me in supporting Healthy Schools Campaign. I am running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12, 2008 on behalf of this vibrant and growing not-for-profit organization. Healthy Schools Campaign addresses the growing problems of obesity and asthma among schoolchildren by promoting improved nutrition, increased physical activity, and healthy environments. Healthy Schools Campaign's programs are making a difference in Chicago, throughout Illinois, and across the country. I hope you will support these efforts.
I started running seriously as a mid-life crisis, and we just can’t afford to wait until our kids turn forty before they get inspired to exercise. There are so many artificial amusements for children these days, which distract them from what they would naturally love, namely, running around like maniacs. I’m happy to help bring the message to kids and schools that a little maniacal running around is a great thing.
