A vibrant and growing not-for-profit organization, Healthy Schools Campaign’s two primary focus areas are school environmental health and wellness. Healthy Schools Campaign’s programs address the growing problems of obesity and asthma among schoolchildren, particularly in low-income and minority communities. Our programs are making a difference in Chicago, throughout Illinois, and across the country. Team members providing their own bibs for the 2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12, 2008 pledge to raise $750 or more on behalf of Healthy Schools Campaign. Runners who require a charity bib pledge to raise $1,000 or more (not including the Bank of America Chicago Marathon $110 registration fee). A $50 team registration fee is required for all team members, which applies towards the fundraising minimum. All team members receive: - complimentary Chicago Area Runner’s Association (CARA) marathon training (or $100 reimbursement towards an approved training program with proof of participation); - HSC performance race singlet; - pre- and post- race sheltered meeting spot with refreshments for your family and friends meet you to celebrate; - private, secure race day gear check; - hotel rooms reserved at group rates within walking distance to the start/finish; - pre-race pasta dinner; - welcome back gift for returning charity runners; - personalized fundraising web site and online fundraising support; - regular training and fundraising tips; - race weekend goody bag and gift; - race day support; - fundraising incentives
