| The Children's Home/Chambliss Shelter is proud to be one of the beneficiaries of the Scenic City Half Marathon, 5K, & Charity Challenge again this year. We strongly encourage you and your friends to choose to run, walk, or raise funds for CH/CS.
The Children's Home/Chambliss Shelter has been in the community for over 138 years, caring for Chattanooga's at-risk children. We provide quality early childhood education to over 500 children each year, staying open 24 hours per day and 7 days per week to accommodate working single parents.
We also provide a safe place for children from ages 6-18 who are in the custody of the State of Tennessee and have been removed from their homes. These children live in either our on-site shelter or our foster homes, located throughout the city.
Our mission is to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse, and delinquency of children by responding to the community's child care needs.
