| Thank you for your interest in becoming a CHARISM Charity Runner!
CHARISM Neighborhood Support Centers provide afterschool and summer development programs for low-income youth living in Fargo. We have been serving our community and underprivileged children for over 15 years. Our programs focus on skill building in the areas of literacy, socialization, and academics.
CHARISM partners with key organizations such as the Fargo Public Schools, Fargo Parks & Recreation, the Fargo Police Department, and the City of Fargo, each year to offer:
Helping Children Learn - A unique afterschool program for children grades 1-5 designed to meet the social and academic needs of low-income youth through one-on-one pairing with college age mentors.
Giving Youth a Voice - A development program designed to improve literacy and writing skills among underprivileged youth. Participants explore avenues of self-expression through poetry, creative writing, and public speaking.
CHARISM Summer Camp - A joint partnership with Fargo Public Schools, Fargo Park District, and CHARISM, this seven week program combines summer school, gardening, and experiential field trips for at-risk youth.
Girls Group - Girls ages 6-14 enjoy "fun time" with a special focus on community service projects. Homework time is incorporated during the school year while leadership skills are built into the group's weekly activities.
By becoming a CHARISM charity runner, the dollars you raise will go toward educational supplies such as books, paper, and art supplies, and healthy snacks for our youth. These items play an important role in our everyday programming, and help us to offer a warm and welcoming environment for all of our participants.
Thank you for considering CHARISM as your cause! |
