| Climb for Hope 2010 |
|
Mexico is where Jodi's Climb for Hope began. Pico de Orizaba, the highest point in Mexico at 18,491 feet, is the mountain that inspired Andrew Buerger to create Jodi's Climb for Hope. During the descent of Pico de Orizaba, Andrew Buerger, along with climbing partner Eric Kronthal, discussed the initial ideas of a non-profit whose purpose is to promote research into breast cancer. A disease that was all too close to home - his sister Jodi was fighting it as he climbed.
Jodi lost her fight on May 9, 2009, but we battle on through Jodi’s Climb for Hope. And, we continue to raise money to support Dr. Leisha Emens at Johns Hopkins University. In the three years since our initial climb in Ecuador Climb for Hope raised over $400,000. Those funds donated have paid for vaccine production, hired support personnel for clinical trial work, expanded pilot studies for further data collection and most importantly gave patients HOPE.
Help us help everyone like Jodi. Please join our climb or donate today. |
