| Walk for Wildlands-Cascadia Ecosystem Advocates |
|
| Thanks for choosing to support Cascadia's Ecosystem Advocates (CEA) through the Walk for Wildlands hiking campaign. Your tax-deductible donation will help support CEA campaigns, such as: squashing the B.L.M.'s backward agenda to increase native forest clearcutting by 700% with its Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR); advocating for a holistic, ecosystem-based legislative approach to forest and watershed protection; uniting dozens of environmental (and other) groups by organizing and facilitating alliances and coalitions; educating the public, elected officials and media on the essential role forests play in regulating regional climate, while storing and absorbing CO2 to fend off global warming; demonstrating the important ecological role wildfire plays in our western forests; debunking the myths that destructive "fuels reduction thinning" in native forests is ecologically-sound and that "forest biomass" is a "green" renewable energy source; promoting genuine solutions to create a truly sustainable Eugene and Lane County (as a model for the rest of the nation) on issues ranging from renewable energy, to appropriate transportation, to pesticide alternatives. Please go to www.cascadiaecoadvocates.org for more information on CEA's many vital campaigns. |
