| Welcome to Derby Days 2008! This year's fundraiser is the first in many years for the Iota Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi at Boston University. With your help, we hope to make it a memorable one!
Derby Days was started in 1934 by the UC Berkely Chapter of Sigma Chi as an approximately five-day fundraiser which pits sororities against each other in friendly competition aimed at raising funds for the national charities of Sigma Chi and each of the participating sororities. Competing sororities earn points throughout the week for participation and generosity and at the end of the week, a champion is crowned!
This year, the IY Chapter at BU will be donating the proceeds of Derby Days to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, which works to provide treatment and support for cancer patients and their families. Additionally, the institute and its celebrated research staff remain on the cutting edge of cancer treatment research. With your support, we can help the Huntsman Insitute make a difference!
