| Sometimes when you're out for a long bike ride something unexpected happens... you run out of water, you get a flat, it starts to rain, or you take a digger... Those of us who ride have all been there at some point (and some others more often). In those times of need, its been the friends we've been riding with who have shared their powerade or arm warmers, helped fix a flat ---sometimes 2 flats, and even helped pick ourselves up off the trail or the road when we're hurt.
When I first entered this ride, my best friend who I've known for over 10 years, was with her husband Jason fighting cancer out at MD Anderson in Houston - the same hospital that treated Lance. Unfortunately, we lost Jason on Sunday 1/11, after his courageous battle. We will miss him dearly. The efforts of Breakingaway provide valuable services and programs, free of charge, to help people living with cancer to live well with the disease.
Please help me honor my friend Jason, and make an impact in another cancer patient's life by making a donation to my fundraising campaign, which will be the only one I hit you up for this year (promise!!)
