| The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Race For Research 5k run/walk is on Saturday, May 12 and we, Allan's Rays of Sunshine, would like your support as we walk in Allan Brown's memory.
Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells for which there is currently no cure. The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) was founded in 1998 by twin sisters, one of whom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, in order to fund research to find a cure for the disease.
As you may remember, Allan passed away in the fall of 2004 after fighting multiple myeloma for 3 years. He participated in numerous clinical trials, including Velcade which is the first myeloma drug to be approved in a decade.
