Running to help find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
Thank you for visiting my donation page! I am currently training for the Boston 13.1 Half Marathon that takes place on June 27th. I am not a runner - in fact, I've never been able to run even one mile without stopping - so what motivated me to attempt this? My friend and roommate Stacey Clark has ulcerative colitis, and she is involved with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). She inspired me to begin training with the New York chapter and raise money to help find a cure for these painful maladies, collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease, that affect over 1.4 million Americans.

CCFA is the largest organization dedicated to curing Crohn's and colitis, and has funded more than 1,100 grants for IBD research. The foundation invests dollars wisely, funding the highest quality IBD research anywhere in the world. The funds raised through Team Challenge directly benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America to support its mission to find a cure and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. More than 80 cents of every dollar donated to the Foundation goes to critical programs.

I am going to be training and running in Stacey's honor, as well as for everyone who suffers from IBD, and I hope that you will support me in this effort by making a tax-deductible donation to CCFA.

You can follow along with me on my wheezing, panting, shins-destroying journey here.
