| You have found my Web site. I am training to run my first half marathon with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Team Challenge on June 27 at the Inaugural 13.1 Marathon® Boston half! I will be completing the 13.1 mile race to raise funds and awareness for research leading to a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Over the next four months my team mates and I will pound the pavement in Charlotte running and raising funds to find a cure for this disease that has claimed over 1.4 million Americans.
I am running in honor of Pam Dennison. Pam and I have worked together for 3 years, she has helped me out of many predicaments (one of which involved a cop), she doesn’t back down from anything and her greatest passion is helping others. Over the last year and a half I have watched her struggle with Colitis. She can’t eat many foods that she once enjoyed and her weight is always fluctuating. It has significantly affected her in day to day life, interfering with her grandchildren and her business, GRAMMIES SALSA that she and her husband Steve have built from the ground up. By running in this race I am creating hope that Pam will one day be GRAMMIE again!
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are known together as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are painful, medically incurable illnesses that attack the digestive system. The cause of IBD remains unknown. However, the effectiveness of recently developed treatment methods and steady advances in research brings us closer every day to finding the cause and probable cure of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
My goal is to raise $2,800 for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. Over 75% of every dollar I raise will directly fund the mission of CCFA, to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by inflammatory bowel diseases.
Please join me in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Donations are tax deductible, and if you donate $100 or more I will dedicate a mile in Boston to you or in honor of someone you know who may be affected by these diseases!
Please donate today, and help me find a cure for these diseases! |
