Team Kelly - Running the Houston Half Marathon for Bo's Place

"Where Children Are Heard and Hearts Are Healed" The mission of Bo's Place is to enhance the lives of those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Bo’s Place offers a unique program that provides grief support to children and their families who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. The organization is founded on the belief that children need to share with other grieving children in order to heal, and offers the only free ongoing program dedicated to meeting the needs of grieving children and their families. Bo’s Place also provides educational and training seminars related to grief and loss for a variety of audiences including members of the medical, educational, and faith-based communities. Bo's Place helped our family during a difficult time. We hope by running the Houston Half Marathon on January 18, 2009, and raising money for their foundation, that they continue doing that for others!

Jason Becker	$100.00	"On November 13, 2008, I boarded a flight from Hartford, CT to visit my mom and dad back in Iowa. As I do on most flights, I had brought a book to read for the plane ride. As soon as the plane was airborne, I reached into the seat back pocket, and by accident, I grabbed a newspaper that had been left behind instead of the book I was looking for. As it turns out, the paper was the Fort Bend Star, and on the front page I read of Kelly's tragic story, and about the efforts that her family and friends are making to keep her memory alive. After the flight, I made a quick internet search, and it was immediately clear that Kelly touched many lives. Thank you for sharing her story, and I wish you all the best for Emily and Andrea's run/campaign. Even at 35,000 feet in the air and thousands of miles away, her story and life found a way to continue to inspire and touch the lives of others.. Good luck with the run and God bless!"
