We also want to thank the dozens of companies that are joining us in our celebration by participating in BOMF Sneaker Day on Friday, June 19th by allowing their employees to wear sneakers to work on Friday, June 19th for $5.

Over the past two years, Back on My Feet has developed into a very comprehensive program much more than just running - it is a comprehensive program that offers connections to job training, educational scholarships and housing assistance. The benefits of Back on My Feet are earned through the currency of attitude, commitment, teamwork, respect, dedication and leadership. We currently have chapters in Philadelphia and Baltimore with more than 160 members and 625 volunteers. Back on My Feet has helped 41 members re-enter the workforce and 31 members move from living in a shelter to living on their own, or back with their family. It’s incredible.

It costs BOMF $1,800 to host a member in our program, which includes team participation, community and trust building activities, helping to secure employment through our job training and employer partnerships and finally moving our members from shelter living to permanent housing. Below are our outcomes to date. We achieve these outcomes by following our “one step at a time” philosophy to ensure stability and self-sufficiency of our teams and our members

• Chapters in Philadelphia and Baltimore that consist of 10 teams with 160 male and female members
• 600+ Volunteers
• 94 members have completed a competitive race
• 15 members have completed a half-marathon
• 5 members have completed a full-marathon
• 31 members have obtained housing
• 44 members have secured jobs
• 29 members have enrolled in job training programs or schooling
