Thanks for visiting!
Last year at this time I had just learned of an organization called Back on My Feet and decided to raise money as they planted their second chapter in Baltimore. Thanks to many of you for supporting me then! I had a FREEZING race in Philly, but it was worth the pain because it kicked off an amazing year with BOMF!
I volunteered for a few months to get the program up and running, and we kicked off in March. We've now expanded to four teams in Baltimore, and I run frequently with two of them. I've met a ton of amazing people, heard some truly inspiring stories, and logged a lot of miles! This summer I ran 34 miles in a 24 hour relay in support of BOMF, and set a new 5K PR with the support of my BOMF buddies.
I've been training hard this summer to acheive my ultimate running goal: qualifying for the Boston Marathon! I've had a few bumps in the road and have turned to water running and cycling lately as I overcome shin splints, but I'm still feeling pretty positive. The men I run with have taught me the value of patience and persistence, and I am raising money to support them in this wonderful program.
Thank you for considering making a donation to Back on My Feet! By the way...I can't figure out how to update my goal from last year, so I'm just adding on to it. I hope to reach $4,000 raised for BOMF in two years by my race on November 8!
