TEAM BLIND CHILDREN was developed to inspire athletes to participate in the annual LA MARATHON and LA 5K RUN on behalf of the special children we serve at the Blind Childrens Center. We also want to inspire first-time participants to do what they never thought they could do!

Never run a marathon? We will be with you each step of the way from training to race-day support. Join the Team and accomplish something only very few people can say they have done — ran a marathon!

Participate in the Honda LA Marathon presented by K-Swiss, Sunday, March 20, 2011 or the New Performance Nutrition LA 5K Run/Walk, Saturday, March 19, 2011 on behalf of the kids at the Blind Childrens Center. This is our 16th year as an Official Charity of the LA Marathon.

What your donation means to the kids:

• $25 pays for reading books for our children's library.

• $50 pays for specialized learning toys for the visually impaired children.

• $100 pays for a white cane.

• $500 pays for one classroom field trip.

 

THE BLIND CHILDRENS CENTER MISSION
The Blind Childrens Center is a family-centered agency which serves young children with visual impairments. The center-based and home-based programs and services help the children acquire skills and build their independence. The Center utilizes its expertise and experience to serve families and professionals worldwide through publications and research.

Since 1938, we've given thousands of children a loving, supportive and positive start to their young lives.
