Bernard Farrell's Ride for Type 1 Diabetes

Bicycling to bring a cure closer...

This September I will have had Type 1 Diabetes for 35 years. And I've been taking insulin and testing my blood sugar ever since. For most of that time, I never expected to see any cure for Type 1 Diabetes. I was going to inject insulin for the rest of my life.

But then I heard about the exciting research that Dr. Denise Faustman had been doing at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was able to cure Type 1 diabetes in mice, and now the team is working hard to make this work for everyone with Type 1.

Last year I was able to raise $7,500 that went directly to this research. And this year, I'm hoping to raise $10,000. It's a lot of money, and I can only do this with your help.

That's a lot of $50 contributions for my ride. And you don't have to sponsor me for that much — even $15 brings me one step closer to my goal. Every dollar of your sponsorship will go directly to the research. And it's all tax deductible.

If you have any questions, drop by my blog at:

Or you can drop me an e-mail at bernard.farrell@gmail.com.

And thank you for supporting this important research towards a Type 1 diabetes cure.

Happy to have completed last year's ride.
Please help support the discovery research by Dr. Denise Faustman at Massachusetts General Hospital, After discovering that the insulin-producing islet cells of the pancreas are capable of regeneration, Dr. Faustman now needs to test her treatment, already known to be safe in humans, to see if the effects are as positive as they were in the animal model. Please donate now to MGH Cure Diabetes Now Fund. And remember to only submit your donation once as Active has a no-refund policy. Thank you.
