| Steve and Spade Braithwaite are two brothers with the desire to have a bit of fun and at the same time raise awareness of the problem that afflicted our mother.
Our mother, Sheila Braithwaite flew on a trans Atlantic flight and unfortunately contracted a blood clot (deep vein thrombosis or DVT) that caused a pulmonary thrombosis embolism that ended her life.
The ironic part was that she was flying from England to America to visit my brother and me to celebrate beating cancer.
So now we are driving a car in the shape of a big banana around the world to not only raise awareness of DVT but also to raise money to support the Vascular Disease Foundation, a national non-profit committed to ending death and disability from vascular disease.
