| My incredible journey began in January, 1995 when I sustained a traumatic brain injury after a car accident. For me, this meant, total fatigue – balance and walking problems, short term memory issues, difficulty in processing information, learning new things, and living with pain in my head 24/7.
After 13 ½ years and through a lot of hard work, help from friends and my faith in Jesus, I am now completely healed and able to walk and raise money for other brain injury survivors and their families.
It Can Happen IN AN INSTANT…A car accident, a fall, a sports injury, a stroke, an aneurysm, a brain tumor...and the lives of everyone involved are changed forever.
1.7 million Americans sustain a brain injury each year which means an estimated 5.3 million Americans are living with a brain injury. Every 21 seconds an infant, teenager, or adult sustains a traumatic brain injury. Studies show that there are more people living with a brain injury than any other disease or disability combined.
On Oct. 16, I am walking to raise awareness and donations. I need your help to exceed my goal and make an impact on the lives of brain injury survivors. |
