|
| The race I'm running is the Marshall University Marathon in Huntington, West Virginia. The donations raised are going to SAFE located in Clarion, Pennsylvania. Here is a brief description...
SAFE (Stop Abuse For Everyone) located in Clarion, PA
SAFE's Philosophy:
SAFE was founded with a belief that all people are entitled to a life of dignity, security, and privacy. All services are free and confidential.
SAFE is funded in part by grants from the Department of Public Welfare, the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency, and the United Way.
Help is available…
SAFE provides:
• 24 hour hotline
• emergency shelter
• options counseling
• advocacy
• accompaniment
• community education
• empowerment groups
• bridge housing
SAFE's shelter program is provided to those who are fleeing an abusive situation, and find they need assistance to work towards a life free of violence for themselves and their children.
Bridge house program provides temporary housing to women and/or their minor children for up to one year.
Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior that is used by one partner in any relationship to gain or maintain power and control over their intimate partner. This includes physical, sexual, emotional, economic, and psychological abuse. Domestic violence is a crime in PA, and happens to all races, ages, religions, or genders. Domestic violence also affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and educations.
I want to thank all of you in advance for your donations and support.
Sincerely,
Brandon Williams |
