| Beat Cancer With a Paddle |

| On April 25, 2009 we will be holding a first of its kind event in Tampa Bay. It will be a kayak and paddle craft race to raise money for cancer research. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Multiple Myeloma is an incurable cancer of the plasma cells with only a 32% five year survival rate, one of the lowest of all cancers. Approximately 50,000 people in the US are living with Multiple Myeloma and 16,000 new cases are diagnosed each year, and the incidence is rising. The MMRF has been on the forefront of funding and developing new treatments for Multiple Myeloma including four new drugs in four years. The research that MMRF has funded is now being translated to a broad range of cancers. However there is still a great deal of work to be done to find a cure for this terrible disease.
