"It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." -- Sir Edmund Hillary
What I'm running the Leadville Trail 100 Mile Run - The Race Across The Sky, on Aug. 22-23 in Leadville, CO. The Leadville Trail 100 mile foot race is an extreme ultramarathon. The course traverses trails, secondary roads and some pavement along the spine of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I'll be running 100 miles: through the day, the night, and into the next day, all above 9200'. The crux of the course is the notorious double crossing of Hope Pass @ 12,600'. Rain, hail, and snow are to be expected. I hope to earn my buckle by finishing in under 30 hours. Due to the high altitude, the average finishing rate for this race is 42%.
Why I'm running to raise funds and awareness for Baltimore's Back On My Feet.
