|Thank you for your interest in supporting the programs and athletes involved with Arizona Disabled Sports (AzDS). Since 1989, AzDS has been dedicated to providing year round sports and recreation opportunities for individuals with all types of disability. AzDS has been a leader in providing quality special events and sports competitions on a local, national and international level. |
AzDS provides ten adaptive sports and recreation programs for individuals with physical disabilities including amputee, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and spinal cord injury. The organization serves as the Mesa delegation of the Special Olympics and provides sports and recreation opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities including autism and down syndrome.
Twenty years of experience has shown that participation in adaptive sports and recreation programs results in increased quality of life, self-esteem, mood and coping skills, respect for themselves and others. Twenty-one million Americans have a physical or visual disability and only 10% of those individuals are participating in daily activity. Arizona Disabled Sports teaches individuals with disabilities to focus on the possibilities rather than the limitations and encourages each individual to get off of the sidelines.
Help us realize our vision and make a donation today! Your donation will support the adaptive sports programs by providing opportunities for new uniforms, upgraded adaptive equipment, special event support and much more.
Additional information about the programs and special events provided by AzDS can be found on our web site at www.ArizonaDisabledSports.com.
