| Hello and welcome! My goal is to raise $50,000.00 for the Magic Yeti Children's Library Project and the children who live and attend school both near the foot of Mt. Everest in the Khumbu Valley and in the remote area of upper Mustang, Nepal. With the enthusiastic support of many friends, family members and clients I raised over $19,117.00...38% of my goal in just 6 weeks time! This wave is just getting stronger and YOU can jump in and add your own energy and power to this endeavor...one of the coolest on the planet!___
I first traveled to Nepal in October 2006. I was of course enchanted with the beauty of the Himalayan mountains, but even more so with the children on the trail and in the villages along the way!___
These children hike up to 2 hours ONE WAY to attend school in a crowded classroom with no heat and barely enough text books to go around. All the while smiling and laughing, eagerly raising their hands and ready to learn something new!___
As I observed their intense enthusiasm for learning, I wondered to myself what these future leaders of Nepal could accomplish with books and learning materials that many of us enjoy and use in other parts of the world for our own empowerment.___
Books that stimulate and ignite the imagination and inovation of the intellect. Materials that cultivate wisdom and wonder. Pictures, art and stories that nourish a sense of curiosity and engage the mind to seek out a stronger connection with mankind. So many possibilites!___
100% of all donations are tax deductible and go to the Magic Yeti Children's Library Fund. It takes $6,000.00 to launch one library. Liesl Clark, Phoebe Coburn and Pete Athans, the inspiring leaders of this project, have one library off the ground at the Sir Edmund Hillary School in Khumjung, and three more planned in Upper Mustang, Nepal for 2008. And it won't stop there!___
This is a magical project. If I could I would pluck you out of your chair wherever you are in the world, and take you on a journey that would change your life, rock your spirit, and have you skipping down the block (even if others were watching) with a whole new level of understanding on what it means to read and of all that a person can dream of becoming.___
I hope I have inspired you to take EASY, SIMPLE and yet POWERFUL ACTION today!___$100.00 will change the lives of SIX children!___$500.00 will empower an entire classroom of children!___$750.00 will give a Nepali man or woman library skills training for LIFE and a salary for an ENTIRE YEAR!___
