Welcome to The University of Alabama SHOOT FOR LIFE Campaign!!!

~Everyone is invited to come out and watch our 3-Point Competition @ Coleman Coliseum on November 2 from 6:00-8:00pm.

~Donations will be taken until November 30, 2007.

NOTE: ALL money raised by The University of Alabama campaign will go to Shoot For Life & Victor Ellis, former Alabama football player and 2002 graduate. Victor is a very special member of the Crimson Tide family so know that your donation will be helping one of our own! You can read more about his story by clicking here!

What is Shoot For Life?

In May 2005, Matt Bostic broke the world record for the most NBA-range three-point shots made in 24 hours with 6,272 shots made! He did this to honor his mother, Joanie Bostic, who had recently passed away after a long, grueling fight with cancer. He used that world record-breaking event as a platform to raise money for a local organization in Maryland where he was living at that time. This money went directly to the needs of those fighting cancer who cannot afford treatments, basic nutrition, or transportation to and from the treatment centers. Shoot for Life was born as a result of this event. Later, Shoot For Life partnered with the Montgomery Cancer Wellness Foundation to help raise money for patients that are under-insured and fighting cancer.

What is the Challenge?

The University of Alabama and Auburn University have teamed up to go head to head in a battle to see who can raise the most money for these patients and the Montgomery Cancer Wellness Foundation. It will be an Iron Bowl type battle off the field, all for a good cause. The University of Alabama team has worked with Shoot For Life and Montgomery Cancer Wellness Foundation and has been given approval for all funds raised by our team to be given directly to Victor Ellis and his family!

How Can YOU Help?

You can help by donating to our campaign right here through our website! Any donation is accepted and greatly appreciated. Remember, the money you donate will help save the lives of those less fortunate by helping them receive the cancer treatment they need and also help us Beat Auburn! Your dollar is going to be the difference in a cancer patient’s life. We also welcome people to make donations in honor or memory of friends and loved ones related to cancer. You may mention the person's name in the comment section when you make your donation. Thank you for your contribution and ROLL TIDE!!!

Register Your Team

You can also register a team to compete in the 3-Point Shooting contest to be held on campus on Friday, November 2, as part of our campaign. You must be a student or faculty member with a valid ACTION card to compete. To pre-register please visit our table in the Ferguson Center between 10am-2pm or our table at the Student Rec Center from 5pm-9pm. Another option to pre-register is to contact the person below. You may also register at Coleman Coliseum the night of the event at 5:30pm.
