The 2010 Disney World Half Marathon has my name on it. [Yes, this is Erin Straza!]
On Saturday, January 9, 2010, I will attempt to run 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 4 minutes (or less, if I can). That's my running goal.
I would love to accomplish this feat, but even more than that, I want my efforts to contribute to something tangible and lasting. For a few years now, God has tugged on my heart regarding the clean water crisis around the world and especially in Africa. Giving something as basic as water seems simple, and it is. But we cannot mistake basic and simple for unimportant. Clean water gives health and life. It also prevents much heartache caused by illness and disease spread through contaminated water. The gift of clean water is no small thing.
Will you help me help others? My fund-raising goal is $10 for every minute of my goal time: 124 minutes x $10 = $1,240
Donations* of any dollar amount are welcome and can be given online (by credit card—see box at bottom of the page) or sent to me (cash or checks payable to Active:Water).
Thanks for supporting me in both goals. I couldn't do this without you. Let's give water: clean and simple.
