Water is the most valuable resource on Earth; it is essential for supporting life. An average American uses over a hundred gallons of water a day, while those in struggling countries are forced to get by on five or less. Our society is on the verge of change when it comes to the abundance, importance, and appreciation of water. I think it is crucial that every human being has access to clean potable water. I have spent my undergraduate and currently my graduate career studying this issue, and now I am ready to take action outside of the classroom. That is why, this May, I am challenging myself to the Capital City Half Marathon in Columbus! Every training session and every mile I will keep in mind my goal- Providing water for those in need.
