On Sunday, July 29, 2007 World Runners Executive Director, Emil Gluekler, will be running in the San Francisco Marathon. This will be Emil's 50th marathon. We invite you to join Emil and participate in this celebration of his accomplishment by running the race with us to end hunger, step by step. There are options other than the marathon, either the first ½ or second ½ of the marathon or a 5K. Or, we are in need of volunteers to staff the marathons exposition July 27 and 28 and the race itself on July 29th.

World Runners' purpose is to make a difference in the world by raising funds for programs to end hunger and poverty in the world while advancing lifelong fitness.

The funds raised by World Runners, from donations and by running for pledges, support programs that transform the conditions for women and children in the world in the areas of health, education and financial resources. The education of young women in Africa and microcredit globally are the two primary programs of World Runners.
