**Running 24 HOURS to raise money to break the silence and stop the abuse**
Why am I running for 24 hours???? Every hour of the day, someone is sexually assaulted. CATS is the only 24-hour facility in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys that serves victims and offers a safe haven of support.
CATS’ Medical Director, Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners all have advanced training as Sexual Assault Examiners and provide evidence collection, assessment of injuries, laboratory testing, medication for acute assault victims, medical referrals, and follow-up examinations as necessary. These are provided at NO COST to the victims.
So, I am running (and asking anyone else who wants to join!) to be another voice for the victims. The community needs CATS, so let's give back!!!!!
DETAILS ON THE 24-HOUR RUN:
1. The CATS 24-HOUR Run Challenge will start at 6:30AM on April 14 and end at Woodley Park at 7:00AM on April 15.
2. I'll start at the park at the race start. Then I'll go by Fleet Feet Encino on Ventura Blvd. and start up to the Nike Missile Tower. The route will be up and over the Santa Monica Mountains to the beach, back over the mountains to Simi Valley and back through the valley to Balboa Park in time for the CATS 5K/10k. I would run laps around the park so people could watch but that doesn't represent the struggle and pain the victims of sexual abuse suffer.
3. ANYONE can join!!! Running buddies, biking buddies, food, moral support, and DONATIONS are ALL WELCOME. Email me if you are interested: trey@fleetfeetencino.com

4. Donations, donations, donations! PLEASE! There are so many ways you can donate:
a. Flat donation
b. Amount per mile
c. Amount per hour
d. Amount per calorie burned
e. Elevation gain
..So many ways!!!!!
The ultimate goal for CATS 24-HOUR Run Challenge is $8760.00 to match the hours that CATS serves the community each year.
Lastly....my goal is to run 100 miles...in 24 hours. :-)
