Running for Independence

Hello. Thanks for visiting my CIF marathon team page. One of the most difficult questions for the parents of a developmentally delayed child is "What will happen when the school bus stops coming"? Will Jacob's life become one of boredom and isolation or will we be able to keep him engaged? Like any other child we want him to have a secure place to live, work to be proud of and friends to socialize with. CIF provides independent living arrangements for adults with disabilities so they may continue to grow and remain productive members of society. Thanks

Center for Independent Futures is an Illinois non-profit corporation dedicated to creating new models and choices for independent living through a network of services, products, and resources that assist young adults with disabilities and families to plan, support, and sustain new ways of living within the community.
